About Us:

We are one of the pioneer lake associations in Sawyer Co., as well as N.W. Wisconsin. Since our formation we have become a tax-exempt quasi-educational lake organization with the intent on keeping Big Sissabagama one of the fine lakes in all of Wisconsin.

Our Mission:

To be the organization to ensure that Big Siss continues to be a fish-productive, clean, and premier recreational lake for the benefit of all users.

Our Goals

  1. Do our best as an association to educate all lake users on topics such as invasive species.
  2. Keep out foreign species from our lake!
  3. Monitor water clarity on an annual basis. Jim Nyberg & Bob Tiede personally monitor clarity of the lake each year. It is one of our most important functions.
  4. Educate all shoreowners on the effect of chemical and mineral run-off into the lake.
  5. Eliminate phosphorous fertilizer use on properties that border the lake.
  6. Encourage buffer zones along the shoreline to act as filtering agents.
  7. Encourage regular testing of septic tanks to ensure such systems are working properly.
  8. Encourage all owners to become members in the Association.
